IMPORTANCE OF TREES

In the natural habitat,  trees play an indispensable role in human lives.  They provide oxygen, clean air, save water, prevent soil erosion, mental health, habitat for wildlife etc. Also certain kind of trees widely used for medicinal purposes too. Trees act as a shade to people drenching in scorching sun. Trees are at utmost importance for our survival on earth. Below are the reasons of trees to play a significant role in our life.

  • Trees immaculate the air, amputate the polluted gas and procure oxygen.
  • When we plant more trees, it cools our environment.
  • It bails out water and access atmospheric moisture.
  • Trees prevent soil erosion.
  • It gives us shade; protect us from ultra violet rays.
  • They provide fresh air for all living things to breathe and gratis us from air pollution and harmful greenhouse gases.
  • It eradicates global warming.
  • Trees are the habitat for different kinds of species.
  • It helps in maintaining ecological balance.

Facts about Trees

  • A single tree can absorb one ton of carbon dioxide.
  • One tree can emit as much as carbon in a year which is imparted by a car while driving 26,000 miles.
  • A single tree releases approximately 260 pounds of oxygen per year.
  • A mature tree clears almost 70 times more pollution than a new planted tree.
  • Trees planted around buildings can give fresh cool breeze and can reduce the usage of air-conditioners.
  • Plants and shrubs reduce noise pollution.

We reap so many benefits from trees still we deforest them for our greed. If deforestation continues, we can clearly see our environment turning parched and polluted. Many animals leave forests and dwell in man’s household in search of shelter, food and water. Cutting down trees can have drastic effect on climate change, later affects our food production, water supply , health and wellbeing. Through deforestation., we kill ourselves, future descendants and other living things. So, keeping this in mind let each one of us protect our precious gift by nature with the tips given below:-
To save trees:

  • Ensure to plant at least one tree in your house.
  • Educate your friends about the importance of trees and confess them to plant more trees in their area.
  • Avoid wasting papers.
  • Use both sides of the paper.
  •  Stop buying wooden decorative items.
  • Gift a plant for your friend’s birthday or any occasions.
  • Recycle – one ton of recycled paper can save  nearly 17 trees.

           It is our duty to protect all lives from extinction. So let us all get in action to plant more and more trees every year. Until next time.
