THE ART OF SANITATION

“Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. We are not new to this proverb. Being clean is not a habit but flair itself. We always keep ourselves clean by taking a shower and brushing. We try our level best to present ourselves neat and tidy. We keep our habitat clean as soon as we find soot in it. This is the plight of our situation.

Now the question that shoots us is, are we keeping our country clean? We mostly try to keep our immediate surroundings clean but when it comes to street we give a U turn for it. Why is it happening? Is it because we care less about our society? Or is it because we are lethargic when it comes to the country as a whole?

We may not have a clear answer on the same. Because we do not have much concern as we do our homes. We spit, throw garbage, defecate and expel in the streets. Even we feel less guilty on doing this offence. We have to change our attitude towards our unclean practice. Can we spit in our halls or bedroom? Can we throw dust in our kitchen? Definitely no!!!!  If this is the case in our homes then why do we feel it impossible to keep our country clean? Ultimately it is our big home itself. Why does our attitude change?

How can we overcome this challenge? As always it needs the effort of every individual, family, community and the society as a whole.  The first step towards it is, taking an oath not spit and defecate in the yards. We should avoid throwing chocolate wrappers, papers, plastic bags and non degradable things in the streets.

Our Prime Minister has rightly started the scheme SWACH BHARAT in which he urges every citizen of our country to keep his surroundings clean. He points out that if we as individual makes up our mind that “I WILL NOT GRIME MY INDIA, THERE CAN NOT BE ANYOTHER FORCE THAT CAN POLLUTE INDIA”

When we go for beaches let’s make it a point not to throw waste in the beach instead throw in the bins. Spitting in roads should be avoided. Urinating in the public should be strictly forbidden. This will not only make India a clean country, but also make India a hygienic place to live in.

So we as kids should take it a point to keep our country clean. We are the pillars of our nation. If we pledge to ourselves that we will grow keeping our town, city and country clean, we can proudly render the sovereignty to the next generation. LETS ALL STRIVE TO MAKE INDIA A CLEAN PLACE IN THE WORLD TO LIVE IN BEATING THE DEVELOPED COUNTRIES.
