India is a land of diversity. There
are people of different creed, culture and language. India is a vast
land with around 133 crores of people getting the benefits of the land.
With 50% of the country possessing youth between the 18-25 years, we
saw a major downfall in the recent summer Olympics Rio 2016. In this
month’s article we are going to talk nineteen to the dozen on India’s
current dramatic loss against the big and small countries around the
world.
India being a secular country has a number of talents and amazing
endowments within itself. Inspite of all odds many children of our
motherland India, work tirelessly amidst all the walks of life to give a
stand to their nation among the countries around the globe. Astronaut
Kalpana Chawla, our beloved scientist and our former president late,
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Mahatma Gandhi and many more gave chances for
their motherland to be proud of for some reason or the other. It’s the
ultimate goal of every Indian to make the country proud. But in some
instances we fail to raise our standards according to the hasty moving
world. One example for the current state is the great downfall in
Olympics. Can anyone query us about the man power that we possess? Can
an alien point us that we are weak? Absolutely NO. India is the
second largest country, next to china, in the population standings. But
we were nowhere close to the final medal tally record portrayed by the
Chinese. We Indians failed to shine in world stages.
Analyzing the fact, the clear picture that framed my mind was, are the
right people given opportunities? I got up with the answer YES. 118
people were given the chance internationally to prove themselves and in
fact they proved. But we could make up only for a mere 2 medals. Then
what else can be our problem, the problem lies within ourselves. We try
to compete against ourselves, instead of the world as whole. India is a
country with much resource. But it is ultimate that we should use the
resources in proper way. Channelizing the resources for the right
purpose is the magic that goes missing in our country. Motivating
people are found only after a break through rather than the initial
stages. Helping hands are given only for handshakes instead of pulling
up. This state needs to be changed. When we find a talent in and around
us, let’s try to appreciate it and help the person to reach heights.
One example for this is, Mr.Gopichand, Indian Badminton coach, who took
it as swear to oneself that he will produce medals for his home
country, in the Olympics, which he failed to do so. His efforts were a
massive hit, when he trained his students to get not 1 but 2 medals for
the country.
Long term efforts will bring success in the long run. Proper
infrastructure, good guide and support are the essentials for
sportsmanship, which is hidden in us, in India. We, the future pillars
of the country should strive hard to work for the overall success of
our country, be it sports, science, politics or economy. We are nowhere
less than the most well developed countries. Keeping this in mind we
have work for the next upcoming challenges in front us and treat
ourselves with the fruit of success. Surely the lost glory will become THE GLORY WON forever.
