A person’s destiny is defined from one’s birth. We are oblivious of
what is destined in our life. Just like an individual’s character and
personality is genetically inherited from ancestors, certain hidden
visionary goals may strike a person to achieve later in life.
Right from our childhood, we are exposed to different kinds of people.
Every person we meet is unique. It is thoughtfully said by Mother
Theresa, “Some people come to your life as blessings others come to
your life as lessons”. It is absolutely true. We trigger our goals
based on the people we meet every day. So we hear children saying that
they want to become a doctor, an engineer, a collector and so on
because they come across these professionals more often in their lives.
In real, children may love to paint, collect coins or stamps, probe
the functioning of a device, wish to write poems or story, nature
enthusiast and so on but parents do not pay sincere attention to their
interest. As years pass by, the involvement of the children vanish due
to the external forces like societal pressure, competing with fellow
mates, status, prestige that diverts a child’s mind to withdraw the
interested one to attain the white collar jobs.
It happens mainly because of the changing circumstances in the
educational institutions that expose children to rote learning and
hinder their growth of inborn talent. Children tend to bias their
personal interest to be wrong and unsuccessful thereby focus on a
vision which may not be theirs. Facing the obstacles of failure with
fear drag a child’s interest to compromise with a profession that
merely gives higher monetary benefits.
One fine day, the person gets detached from their job and hunts for a
new one still keep changing which ends in loss of time and money.
Later, he’ll be witnessed as an unsuccessful person. Few persons on
their forlorn situations, think deeper and look for their real interest
at this adverse time to start a new journey of life. But not all are
lucky to find one.
Lives of great men like Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Steve Jobs,
Nelson Mandela, APJ Abdul Kalam teach us to follow our dreams and be
the creator of our destiny. Each and every child is born for a purpose.
All are destined to follow their heart. Expecting a lemon from an
apple tree will be foolish. Children should be guided with any area of
their interest. For example, if a child shows interest for agriculture
it shouldn’t be seen as immature.
Imagine the world to be filled with myriad number of doctors,
engineers and IT professionals? It doesn’t sound perfect, right? In
recent decades, it is observed that many people have started chasing
their dreams after having falling under fast paced jobs. To avoid
regret for changing one’s destiny later, parents should have the
attitude to leave children to create their destiny as per their wish.
Be their guide and do not role play. A piece of advice to parents is to
motivate your children to pursue their interests irrespective of any
field they choose instead of paving their way to chase on money.
Striking one’s interest and pursuing your dreams are real ingredients
to success. Let the future leaders dream on their own. Dear children,
Be the creator of your own Destiny! All the Best!
